 ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 will begin from 30th May 2019. But before that we have some exciting fixtures for warm up matches. This post will provide you details on the schedule. Also Hotstar will provide live streaming of warm up matches in Hindi and English commentary.

 24th May

 Warm up matches ahead of a big ICC event always serves a great opportunity for the visiting teams to get used to the playing conditions. Especially in England where the ball swings either ways, the batsmen love to have some warm up games to get accustomed to the swinging conditions. Pacers get a chance to control their swing before the land up into the actual tournament where the margin of error is least.

 If we closely have a look at the warm up schedule, each team gets to play two teams. India plays New Zealand followed by Bangladesh. Team like New Zealand has already expressed pleasure in playing a strong team like India in the warm up as it gives them a good idea of the opposition composition.

 For team like India, these warm up games allow them to sort out the pre-World Cup confusions. The biggest one being confusion over the number four position in the batting line up.

 India, Australia and England are considered to the favourites to lift this world cup. But not to forget, cricket is a game of uncertainties. West Indies have a strong T20 team and if they maintain some composure they can easily be in the knock outs. Likewise, South Africa, New Zealand and Sri Lanka can also have a strong chance. 

 Total 10 warm up matches would be played across venues like Bristol, Southampton and London.

List of Umpires and Match Referees for ICC Cricket World Cup 2019

While we always keep discussing about team squads, players who might outperform others, venues, schedule, etc; we often forget to discuss about the match officials - umpires and match referees. ICC recently announced the list of umpires and match referees who would officiate in the cricket world cup 2019. The list includes 22 officials - 16 umpires and six match referees. 2019 cricket world cup would change this stats, not drastically but surely so. While it is difficult to predict who would clinch the world cup, we can assume it could be Australia again, India maybe or the hosts England. Not to forget West Indies have some fearless young players who could go out there and play with pride. South Africa have never won one and they could clinch one this time, their first one.
